Jay ; GOOD STORIES, "Billy Hill" they put fun into it and some sage advice ya da ya da etc ipso facto .... On a slightly different note here's a long distance drive tip when in a traffic jam, construction zone, over turned semi etc. My go to CDS are George Van Eps "Mellow Guitar" or "Sittin ' Back Pickin" by that guy you know well. Both of those can really melt the miles.
I work with the under 25 set, as you know. The weirdest thing I see among them is the conviction that it's already too late for most things. Too late? Really? Too soon, maybe, for a lot of things. But no, not nearly as late as you think.
Jay, you were my first real co writer outside of the Hank Flamingo band. All we have done for the last 30 years is try to make each other laugh and that is why we have had big hits and near misses and a few rain outs. Tell the girl hey.
Trace gave us some great songs in that vein, one of my favorites is Just Fishing. I didn't get any great advice from my parents. My grandparents told me to do what I love and to love what I do. They also taught me to be kind. My friends who died taught me that this life isn't a dress rehearsal. My mentors taught me that if you wish it, you can bring it, but sometimes it comes from left-field and you need to be ready to grab hold of it. Tim said Live Like You Were Dying, and being in remission from cancer, I back that. Darn it, now I'm going to have to write some songs for my little grandchildren :D
Love it! Is there a 2023 version of the great scene in "The Graduate" where the guy tells Dustin he has one word for him, "Plastics?" I love me some one word wisdom, maybe "Algorithms/"
This brings me back to when my oldest graduated and moved away to her first job. All I could say to her was “all those lucky kids to have you for a teacher, and remember if it’s not the right city for you you will find the right one”. You have already given her the right words. Best of all she knows how much you love, trust and respect her. Plus she knows you will always be there. Enjoy your drive.
Damn. I cried and laughed on nearly every line. This is incredible. Heroes, friends, family… song friends. I love this, Jay. Thank you.

Word…thanks for the Billy Hill
Stories,Thanks,Rory

I thought we were doing it because it was a really quick way to get mega rich. Am I wrong?

This is good and that’s all.

I look forward to receiving these so very much, Jay. Thank you.
Totally agree! I've met most of my best friends and favorite people from songwriting. I needed this reminder just now. Good timing, Jay.
