I love this so much. As a kid I liked making the Christmas butterball cookies. I continued that tradition with my girls and Erin and I still do it. I think Jeanne never liked it. Erin is coming on Friday to do it and bringing my granddaughter too. Erin’s son came last weekend and did the tree and gingerbread house. In the age of coparenting scheduling can get tricky. I just love hearing about everyone’s traditions. Thank you for making me think back on all mine.
I look forward to a text from you every Christmas! If you sent me a song every day, I'd be fine with that and really appreciate you including me. I love your writing and my time spent with you has been some of my best days in Nashville. And, "closer to being the person I wish I was...", I love that part. Thanks so much for sharing, Jay.
Jay, I love this beautiful essay. Thank you for sharing it, and two of your offerings of a ‘Christmas Eve Gift.’ I played them both here in Gladstone, Oregon, on this rainy, dark December morning, and your songs certainly feel like a gift. Merry Christmas to the Knowles family!
All I want for Christmas Eve Gift is to hear the rest of your version of this song.

Jay, Uncle Holly played Basketball for the University of Texas not football. Everything else looks great. 😘
